Oliver Ostend Anthony Ralph was born o the 22nd of December 1914.
Ralph enlisted for service on the 23rd of May 1940, with prior service in the South African Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.
Ralph was Initially was posted to the 9th Supply Company of the South African Service Corps on the 23rd of May 1940. He was later posted to No.2 Stores Company handling Ammunition from the 1st of June 1940. On the 21st of July 1940 Ralph was dispatched to No.4 HQ Stores Company in Nairobi, while there he was admitted for Dysentery in March 1941, and later Influenza in November of the same year.
